Guccio Gucci founded the House of Gucci in 1921. Their first fragrance, Gucci No. 1 for women, was released in 1974. Since then, several fragrances for men and women have been launched and have become legendary among collectors, including Gucci 3 and L'Arte di Gucci. Tom Ford served as creative director from the mid-90s until the early 21st century, followed by Frida Giannini and now Alessandro Michele.
